Each of us looks at the world in a different light. The unique ways we each perceive the natural beauty of this planet controls our feelings and actions. Unfortunately, contemporary life does not always allow us to slow down and reflect upon our surroundings and thus we often overlook the majestic splendor that surrounds us.
As an artist I wish to create work that demands attention and provokes us to stop, reflect and contemplate our relationship with nature. I believe that through the power of visual statements admiration for nature will emerge and through this we will become more respectful of our environment.
Through my boldly colorful and dramatic oil paintings I dramatize natural elements and landscapes in order to draw attention to our experiences. Underlying each painting is a strong personal relationship with the object or scene that I have depicted. At first glance the narrative of my paintings may seem familiar, but as one investigates the composition, the colors chosen and the brush strokes applied – connotations surface and the soul of the painting reveals itself.
